Job Description

Overview

  • Lead patient access and utilization management operations to ensure seamless workflows and optimal patient satisfaction within a dynamic healthcare organization.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance revenue cycle performance and compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and improve patient care delivery.
  • Provide leadership for the Utilization Review Committee, ensuring physician engagement and adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Oversee patient registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, and utilization review programs to streamline processes.
  • Analyze operational performance metrics to support strategic planning and forecasting efforts.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff proficiency in compliance and operational standards.
  • Contribute to enterprise risk management strategies by addressing compliance concerns effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct and oversee patient access operations, including scheduling, registration, admissions, and financial counseling functions.
  • Ensure accurate identification of patient status and optimize revenue cycle outcomes through effective management practices.
  • Develop and maintain inventory and cost accounting policies to support financial transparency.
  • Identify and resolve quality and risk issues while ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Lead auditing and monitoring programs to mitigate compliance risks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Investigate and address compliance concerns using confidential reporting systems effectively.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives and performance improvement measures.
  • Provide strategic oversight for billing, coding compliance, and risk management initiatives within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive administrative and supervisory experience in healthcare management roles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong budgeting and negotiation skills.
  • Functional knowledge of hospital information systems, spreadsheets, and computer applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of patient access, utilization management, and medical terminology.
  • Detailed knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and state healthcare regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated collaborative abilities.
  • Experience in insurance verification, coverage interpretation, and revenue cycle optimization.
