Overview

  • Lead oncology pharmacy services, ensuring clinical excellence and regulatory compliance in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Develop innovative pharmacy programs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Oversee medication management processes, advancing safety protocols and optimizing pharmacy systems for efficiency.
  • Provide leadership to pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Engage with physicians and stakeholders to expand oncology services and improve patient-centered care initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, functioning as the Pharmacist In Charge.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and participate in committees to support oncology service line growth.
  • Participate in clinical pharmacy program enhancements and medication utilization reviews to optimize practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of oncology pharmacy services, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement innovative outpatient oncology pharmacy programs in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, promoting skill development and exceptional patient service standards.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance medication safety and optimize pharmacy information systems.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance standards and act as the Pharmacist In Charge.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to improve oncology patient care and expand service offerings.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts and participate in committees to support service line development.
  • Advance clinical pharmacy programs and optimize drug utilization practices for better patient outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical pharmacy experience, with 8 years preferred.
  • Leadership or management experience of 2-5 years is highly desirable.
  • Active RPH License in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Experience with Epic Beacon and 340B programs is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of outpatient oncology pharmacy operations and medication acquisition processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with physicians and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving roles and contribute to the development of oncology service lines.
