Overview
- Provide medical support to healthcare providers and assist in clinical activities under the Nurse Manager's direction.
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared, clean, and stocked for patient encounters and procedures.
- Organize and prepare patient summary sheets and charts for daily clinic operations.
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain vital signs as required by medical providers.
- Document patient information and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records.
- Assist patients during their visit, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.
- Maintain universal precautions and adhere to clinical safety standards in all activities.
- Support Saturday clinic operations as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Organize patient charts and summary sheets, ensuring readiness for daily clinic operations.
- Clean, restock, and prepare exam rooms for patient encounters and procedures.
- Call patients from the lobby into exam rooms, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and chief complaints accurately.
- Perform phlebotomy and assist with patient care under medical provider direction.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring operational readiness.
- Follow universal precautions and clinical safety standards in all activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and the Nurse Manager to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience; 2 years preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems; experience with Eclinical Works preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to perform phlebotomy effectively.
- Bilingual abilities preferred to enhance patient communication.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and stable work history required.
- Commitment to maintaining universal precautions and clinical safety standards.
