Job Description

Overview

  • Perform mammography and radiographic procedures under the guidance of radiologists and supervisors, ensuring high-quality imaging results.
  • Utilize advanced imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images while adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Engage with patients to provide education about procedures and ensure a comfortable experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with department standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and support departmental goals.
  • Participate in training programs for new staff and students, sharing expertise and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety practices and federal guidelines for imaging procedures.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate mammographic equipment according to specifications, producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, ensuring patient and staff safety.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and troubleshoot processing issues effectively.
  • Assess patients prior to procedures, reviewing medical history and ensuring proper preparation.
  • Educate patients about imaging procedures, addressing concerns and documenting interactions.
  • Utilize Radiology Information Systems (RIS) for accurate procedure documentation and workflow management.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with non-technical duties, including patient transport and maintaining stock levels.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree and completion of an accredited ARRT program.
  • Current ARRT certification with advanced mammography certification preferred.
  • One year of experience in mammography or radiographic procedures is preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing quality radiographic procedures and working independently.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety standards and adhering to federal guidelines.
