Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and compliance with healthcare standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements within the department.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning.
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation of departmental goals.
  • Support the development and execution of patient care initiatives and programs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Monitor patient care delivery, addressing issues and implementing solutions promptly.
  • Coordinate with physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent leadership experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical protocols, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in managing departmental budgets and resources effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
