Job Description

Overview

  • Support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials for procedures.
  • Assist the dental team in performing chairside and laboratory support functions.
  • Ensure patient comfort and maintain treatment records accurately.
  • Sterilize, prepare, and manage inventory of dental instruments and supplies.
  • Comply with health center protocols, including exposure control plans and safety precautions.
  • Engage in continuous learning and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Support the mission and goals of the client organization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare treatment operatory and position instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Monitor patient comfort and assist in maintaining treatment records.
  • Sterilize dental instruments and manage inventory control effectively.
  • Take and record medical and dental histories of patients.
  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for examinations and procedures.
  • Perform functions in compliance with health center protocols and safety standards.
  • Communicate dental procedures and terminology effectively with the dental team and patients.
  • Assist in administrative tasks and support the dental team as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the ADA required.
  • Basic CPR (BLS) Certification is mandatory.
  • One year of clinical dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospital or community health center settings preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Hindi, Bangla, or Urdu preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical/dental software is advantageous.
  • Strong reasoning, mathematical, and communication skills required.
