Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Run and analyze conflict checks for new client matters and lateral hires.
- Conduct detailed research on parties to identify potential conflicts.
- Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement terms, and related documentation.
- Implement and maintain ethical screens to protect confidential information.
- Advise on compliance with outside counsel guidelines and client requirements.
- Mentor and train junior team members in conflicts resolution processes.
- Support attorney transitions and records management tasks.
- Collaborate on refining conflicts policies and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active NY bar admission.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in law firm conflicts or related roles.
- Strong understanding of Rules of Professional Conduct across jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in conflicts and intake systems and document management processes.
- Excellent judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business priorities.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Experience drafting conflict waivers and advising on ethical screens.
- Ability to manage high volumes of time-sensitive matters effectively.
