Overview
- Manage accounting operations for a dynamic multifamily property portfolio, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate property onboarding processes, including financial data reconciliation and vendor account transitions.
- Act as the operational owner of monthly close coordination and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate across accounting, operations, and systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Support integration of acquisitions and portfolio transitions into accounting systems.
- Develop and maintain standardized onboarding checklists and workflows.
- Enhance accounting processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and feedback to external accounting teams and junior staff.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Review financial statements, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy.
- Manage month-end and year-end close timelines across multiple entities.
- Coordinate audit and tax support with external accountants and advisors.
- Prepare and review owner/investor reporting packages for completeness.
- Lead accounting onboarding for newly acquired or transitioned properties.
- Standardize reporting templates and improve monthly close timelines.
- Act as a key power user of Yardi Voyager and related reporting tools.
- Support financial data integrity for acquisitions, refinancings, and audits.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate operations.
- Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and property-level financial statements.
- Experience with onboarding or transitioning properties is highly preferred.
- CPA certification or CPA track is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
