Job Description

Overview

  • Support attorneys in civil litigation cases by managing clerical and research tasks.
  • Assist in document preparation, review, and organization for depositions and trials.
  • Coordinate with clients and legal teams to ensure efficient case management.
  • Track and record billable hours for client invoicing purposes.
  • Prepare affidavits, applications, and legal memoranda with precision.
  • Provide logistical support for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Contribute to case chronologies and document productions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Organize and tab exhibits, prepare witness kits, and assemble trial binders.
  • Review and redact documents for case-sensitive matters.
  • Monitor case dockets and summarize relevant pleadings and applications.
  • Coordinate logistics for depositions and court appearances.
  • Summarize trial transcripts and manage post-trial documents.
  • Proofread and cite check legal documents using established standards.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and colleagues in a team environment.
  • Respond to competing demands with flexibility and adaptability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience; civil litigation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Experience in tracking billable hours is highly beneficial.
