Job Description

Overview

  • Lead a high-performing virtual bookkeeping team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction in a dynamic environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis for diverse clients.
  • Mentor and develop staff, fostering professional growth and technical expertise within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support year-end close, tax compliance, and client advisory services.
  • Drive process improvements and system optimization, leveraging cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Engage with clients to ensure timely communication, issue resolution, and delivery of accurate financial data.
  • Support client onboarding, system implementations, and transition projects to enhance service efficiency.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and workflow management to scale operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and manage a team of remote bookkeeping professionals, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable processes, and cash management activities.
  • Ensure quality control and consistency in deliverables within a fast-paced virtual environment.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system optimization for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with tax and audit teams to support compliance and advisory services.
  • Train, mentor, and provide ongoing feedback to staff for professional development.
  • Assist with capacity planning, workflow management, and scaling operations as client base grows.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting CAS environments.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting systems like QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a service-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a consultative, client-focused approach.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, evolving organization with dynamic priorities.
