Job Description

Overview

  • Provide professional nursing services in a dynamic healthcare setting, ensuring patient care and treatment meet high standards.
  • Administer vaccinations, Tuberculin Skin Tests, and other medications as ordered, adhering to established protocols.
  • Maintain patient flow in a busy clinic practice, preparing patients for medical visits and assisting providers.
  • Document care provided and procedures performed in the electronic patient medical record system.
  • Perform venipuncture, process specimens, and transmit them to contracted laboratories efficiently.
  • Educate patients on health procedures and treatments as directed by licensed medical professionals.
  • Maintain infection control practices and ensure the cleanliness of medical instruments and facilities.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety, attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer vaccines and treatments under standing orders, ensuring compliance with medical guidelines.
  • Perform EKGs, measure vital signs, and assist in patient screenings as required.
  • Complete specialty referrals, diagnostic imaging orders, and physician paperwork accurately.
  • Process prior authorization requests for medications and procedures efficiently.
  • Sterilize instruments using autoclave machines and maintain infection control practices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and coworkers, fostering a professional and supportive environment.
  • Maintain current licensure and certifications, including CPR for Healthcare Providers.
  • Perform other duties as required, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; current New York State RN or LPN licensure mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical record system is essential.
  • Ability to administer vaccines and read PPD tests under standing orders.
  • Strong knowledge of practical nursing principles and patient care techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Physical ability to perform health care services, including lifting and patient transfers.
