Director Of Property Accounting

Overview

• Lead property accounting operations for a dynamic organization with a focus on excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering professional growth and team effectiveness.
• Oversee treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and cash flow projections.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Maintain knowledge of budgets and forecasts to support financial decision-making.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies and uphold internal controls for asset preservation.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and innovation within the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Supervise accounting records and administrative matters for assigned projects and entities.
• Coordinate with functional groups and external representatives to ensure operational efficiency.
• Review and approve funding requests, reserves, and write-offs in compliance with agreements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards in financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger reviews and analysis for accuracy and integrity.
• Administer financial statement audits and tax preparation processes.
• Provide guidance on complex ownership and equity structures.
• Develop and implement policies to enhance accounting operations and risk management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation mandatory.
• Minimum of seven years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public and industry sectors.
• Three years of management experience with effective people leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate accounting and tax processes.
• Proficiency in analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to manage complex ownership structures and financial reporting requirements.
