Job Description

Overview

  • Manage day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and monthly schedules for reporting purposes.
  • Monitor transactions and accounting procedures, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to company policies.
  • Support inventory management through reconciliations, job costing, and transaction analysis.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to obtain work tickets and manage inventory records.
  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Handle tax-related tasks, including obtaining certificates and preparing year-end 1099 forms.
  • Participate in special projects aimed at streamlining accounting processes and enhancing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform accounts receivable invoicing, payments, and collections, including follow-ups on outstanding invoices.
  • Manage accounts payable disbursements through checks and wire transfers, ensuring timely processing.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts for accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with the auction coordinator on terms and conditions for auctions and post-auction collections.
  • Maintain accounting schedules and reconciliations for inventory, sales, purchases, and deposits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing tax certificates and billing customers appropriately.
  • Support the Controller in financial statement production and account analysis tasks.
  • Contribute to special projects aimed at improving accounting efficiency and processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience; 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to new database applications and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Eligibility to work on-site during standard business hours.
