Job Description

Overview

  • Manage daily accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements by maintaining monthly schedules and reconciliations.
  • Perform account analysis and handle special projects to enhance accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Support year-end processes, including 1099 preparation and tax compliance activities.
  • Provide post-auction collections support, following up with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Maintain inventory schedules and perform job costing for inventory expenses.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Handle accounts receivable invoicing, payments, and receipts for machinery sales and auctions.
  • Manage accounts payable disbursements via checks and wire transfers.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to obtain work tickets for inventory tracking.
  • Perform job costing for inventory expenses and reconcile machinery sales.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by obtaining tax exemption certificates and billing sales tax.
  • Prepare year-end 1099 forms for contractors and assist with tax filings.
  • Support auction processes by coordinating terms and conditions and following up on collections.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable and payable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to new database applications and technology systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Self-starter with analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
