Job Description
Overview
- Provide medical support to healthcare providers and assist in clinical activities under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
- Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Prepare patient summary sheets and charts for daily clinic activities and appointments.
- Conduct patient intake, including obtaining chief complaints and vital signs, and document in electronic medical records.
- Assist with patient care procedures under the supervision of medical providers or Nurse Manager.
- Perform phlebotomy and ensure adherence to universal precautions in all clinical activities.
- Support the clinic's operational changes, including schedule adjustments and extended hours.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain clinic standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Organize and prepare patient charts and summary sheets for clinic operations.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and ready for patient encounters.
- Call patients from the lobby and escort them to exam rooms.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and chief complaints accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care procedures and clinical tasks.
- Perform phlebotomy and adhere to universal precautions during clinical activities.
- Utilize electronic medical records for documentation and patient data management.
- Adapt to schedule changes and support extended clinic hours as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience preferred; entry-level candidates considered.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and computer literacy essential.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Bilingual capabilities preferred to enhance patient communication and care.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and adhere to universal precautions in clinical settings.
- Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes and extended clinic hours, including weekends.
