Support Engineer

Overview

• Collaborate with portfolio managers, researchers, and traders to ensure the reliability of proprietary trading systems.
• Develop Python-based tools to automate operational checks and enhance system observability.
• Contribute to AI-assisted alert triage and anomaly detection for trading platforms.
• Maintain and improve Grafana dashboards for proactive system monitoring.
• Respond to production incidents and collaborate with teams to resolve technical issues.
• Perform QA testing for new functionalities and liaise with external brokers on market data issues.
• Document workflows and systems, aiming to automate redundant processes.
• Engage in on-call responsibilities to address critical production issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Design and implement Python-based automation tools for operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards using Grafana or similar tools.
• Support trading systems and applications, ensuring optimal performance during trading hours.
• Collaborate with development teams to address and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Perform quality assurance tests for system updates and new features.
• Engage with external brokers and vendors to resolve order flow and data issues.
• Document operational processes and workflows for improved efficiency.
• Participate in the modernization of operational support through AI and automation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline required.
• 3-5 years of experience in production or application support, preferably in financial services.
• Proficiency in Python for developing automation tools and scripts.
• Experience with FIX protocol, Linux, and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana and familiarity with trading systems.
• Exposure to market data platforms, Git, and Jira.
• Interest in AI/LLM applications for operational contexts.
• Resilience to manage pressure during market hours and commitment to reducing incidents.
