Overview
- Supervise daily nursing activities in the Assisted Living unit, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain high-quality care standards and service coverage.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting professionalism and teamwork.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and optimal resident care.
- Monitor electronic charting for accuracy and ensure timely incident investigations and documentation.
- Participate in Quality Assurance programs to uphold the facility's care standards.
- Educate and implement Comfort Matters competencies for dementia care practices.
- Adapt to emergencies and crises, maintaining composure under pressure.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in staffing the facility with qualified nursing professionals to meet resident care needs.
- Oversee scheduling, payroll, and provide direct nursing care as needed.
- Ensure compliance with nursing policies, completing audits, evaluations, and incident investigations.
- Support the Care Planning process, reviewing and revising resident care plans.
- Monitor Nurse Call Alert System, ensuring prompt responses and resolution of alerts.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and administer disciplinary actions fairly.
- Participate in Quality Assurance programs to enhance care quality.
- Float to other units as needed to provide supervisory support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and valid New Jersey RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in assisted living or long-term care facilities.
- Proficiency in electronic charting, EMAR, and ETAR systems preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities and adaptability to emergencies and crises.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry supplies and equipment as required.
- Commitment to providing person-centered care for residents with dementia.
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
- Willingness to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
