Overview
- Lead and manage accounting for employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Collaborate with HR, actuaries, and external vendors to analyze benefit plan performance and assumptions.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
- Support quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, including ASC 715 and related guidelines.
- Analyze liabilities, expenses, and pension obligations to provide actionable insights.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in benefits accounting workflows.
- Assist with audit processes, ensuring adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee accounting and reporting for employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Analyze plan liabilities, expenses, and pension obligations to inform decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to US GAAP standards, including ASC 715 and related compliance.
- Support quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely reporting.
- Implement process improvements to optimize benefits accounting workflows and efficiency.
- Provide audit support, ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Preferred 10 years of experience, including benefits or actuarial accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards, particularly ASC 715.
- CPA certification is preferred for this role.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, actuaries, and finance teams.
- Solid analytical skills to assess plan performance and liabilities effectively.
- Experience supporting audits, including external auditors and SOX compliance.
