Overview
- Contribute to the development and execution of decarbonized energy projects, including natural gas generation, hydrogen production, and carbon capture initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry standards.
- Play a pivotal role in advancing the modernization of energy infrastructure through innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to build support for energy projects and foster positive relationships.
- Utilize financial modeling and market analysis to optimize project performance and profitability.
- Work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote collaboration effectively.
- Report to the Vice President of Development, providing regular updates on project progress and milestones.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Plan and execute development strategies for active energy projects, ensuring alignment with investment objectives.
- Negotiate and manage development agreements, ensuring compliance and successful implementation.
- Oversee permitting processes, proactively addressing and resolving issues as they arise.
- Develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including off-takers and external consultants.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, finance, and legal to ensure project success.
- Provide administrative support, including budgeting, compliance reporting, and management updates.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to assess project feasibility and profitability.
- Travel as necessary to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy project development, with 7 years preferred.
- Proven track record in successful development of large-scale energy projects.
- Strong financial skills, including pro forma modeling and NPV/IRR analysis.
- Understanding of US power markets, ISOs, and power generation economics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel and work in a hybrid environment as needed.
- Pass a pre-employment background and financial credit check.
