Overview
- Lead procurement operations to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards for manufacturing components and materials.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to optimize performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct negotiations on pricing, lead times, and terms to secure favorable agreements for the organization.
- Monitor supply chain risks and implement proactive measures to mitigate disruptions and maintain operational continuity.
- Track market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, including government procurement standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing sourcing processes and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage purchase orders from initiation to fulfillment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance for critical manufacturing components.
- Conduct competitive pricing and term negotiations to achieve optimal procurement outcomes.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues to ensure consistent delivery and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain challenges and support production schedules.
- Implement and oversee risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain vulnerabilities effectively.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and government regulations, including FAR/DFAR standards.
- Support initiatives to enhance procurement processes and drive supplier performance improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing environments; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and production support activities.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for effective data management.
- Experience with machined parts, electrical components, or manufacturing supply chains is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of government procurement regulations, such as FAR/DFAR, is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
