Job Description

Overview

  • Provide quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with a designated care team to achieve patient care goals and maintain a safe environment.
  • Perform clinical, technical, and administrative tasks to support patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Administer medications safely and observe patient responses, adhering to state laws and organizational protocols.
  • Conduct therapeutic procedures, including respiratory support, phlebotomy, and EKGs, to meet patient needs.
  • Prepare patients for tests and procedures, ensuring comfort and readiness for medical interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of vital signs, specimen collection, and therapeutic activities.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, including CPR and code blue situations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform patient care activities in alignment with established nursing policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient reactions, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct therapeutic procedures such as catheter insertion, IV maintenance, and respiratory support.
  • Assist in specimen collection and transport, maintaining proper documentation and labeling.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and medical procedures, ensuring optimal care delivery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient treatment plans and achieve care objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification, meeting state and organizational requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in performing therapeutic procedures and administering medications safely.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Strong documentation skills for recording patient care activities and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed and adapt to varying patient care demands.
