Job Description

Overview

  • Deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Administer medications, perform therapeutic procedures, and monitor patient responses effectively and safely.
  • Support respiratory care needs, including aerosol treatments and suctioning, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and IV insertions adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for tests and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized care environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws and organizational policies in all clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer medications and observe patient reactions, documenting and reporting as required.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures including catheter insertion/removal and specimen collection.
  • Support respiratory care through treatments, suctioning, and patient education on therapeutic equipment.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs and phlebotomy, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the care team to implement and monitor patient care plans effectively.
  • Assist healthcare professionals during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree required for eligibility.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in administering medications and performing therapeutic procedures.
  • Knowledge of state laws and organizational policies governing clinical practices.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic tests and accurately document patient data.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient care environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
