Job Description

Overview

  • Lead accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accurate financial reporting.
  • Supervise a team of five staff members, fostering professional growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to align accounting processes with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor expenses and oversee reconciliation of investments, loans, and deposits.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including FFIEC 0051, FR Y-6, and FR Y-9SP reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and city tax reporting requirements.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and streamline reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor expense processes and reconcile financial accounts.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate regulatory filings, including tax reporting and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to implement strategic financial initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate loan and escrow accounting processes are maintained.
  • Utilize Excel and accounting software to optimize data analysis and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in regulatory reporting, including FFIEC 0051, FR Y-6, and FR Y-9SP.
  • Strong Excel skills for financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with banking accounting systems, preferably Jack Henry, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and city tax reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work onsite, collaborating closely with the CFO and accounting team.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage team performance effectively.
