Overview
- Lead investment accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting standards.
- Provide guidance and training to team members for efficient task execution.
- Monitor daily accounting operations and monthly financial closes for domestic and international portfolios.
- Prepare financial disclosures and external reporting documents with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with technical teams to enhance processes and resolve system-related issues.
- Research technical accounting matters and provide insights on investment transactions.
- Participate in projects and implementations with investment accounting software solutions.
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends and accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Monitor and track monthly and quarterly financial closes for investment portfolios.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and issue resolution for accounting staff.
- Drive process enhancements for recording and reconciling journal entries.
- Oversee U.S. GAAP and Statutory accounting entries for alternative investments.
- Prepare analyses supporting financial reporting and external requests.
- Coordinate workflow with other team supervisors and communicate resolutions effectively.
- Provide investment-related data for surveys and external ratings.
- Stay updated on market trends and accounting standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services; insurance industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in investment accounting software (Clearwater preferred) and general ledger applications (Oracle and HFM).
- Advanced Excel skills including logical formulas and pivot tables.
- Knowledge of ASC Topics 320 through 326 and foreign currency matters.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to prepare detailed financial disclosures.
- Experience with STAT reporting and WINGS system preferred.
- Big 4 experience is a plus.
