Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Senior Client Account Specialist, managing billing and collection strategies for assigned partners and practice groups.
  • Collaborate with partners, practice leaders, and finance teams to ensure compliance with client requirements and firm best practices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing processes, including adherence to outside counsel guidelines and client agreements.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and take proactive actions to secure prompt payments and resolve underpayments.
  • Prepare detailed billing reports and maintain accurate financial records for senior management review.
  • Lead meetings with partners to discuss billing and accounts receivable statuses and address concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize billing processes and ensure successful e-billing submissions.
  • Participate in system upgrades and validate functionality for billing systems and reports.
  • Support client account managers and advisors in daily operations and special projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Drive billing and collection processes for assigned partners and practice groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and initiate actions to resolve payment delays or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and update financial reports, including projections and billing comments, for management.
  • Ensure compliance with client guidelines, billing arrangements, and engagement letters.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate invoice submissions and reporting.
  • Lead regular meetings with partners to address billing and accounts receivable concerns.
  • Handle complex billing matters and provide expertise to junior staff as a subject matter expert.
  • Support system upgrades and validate functionality for billing systems and reports.
  • Participate in ad hoc client analysis projects and special assignments as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of billing and client relationship experience in professional services or law firms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong technical billing skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a partnership environment and independently make informed decisions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes and ability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Proactive in seeking improvements and anticipating client needs.
