Overview

  • Join a dynamic accounting firm as a Senior Tax Accountant, contributing to complex tax matters and client management.
  • Utilize your expertise in public accounting to prepare and review federal and state tax returns.
  • Handle Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) calculations and compliance strategies effectively.
  • Analyze gains on property sales, ensuring multi-state compliance and accurate tax basis calculations.
  • Engage in year-end tax projections and planning strategies to optimize client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Perform multi-state tax apportionment, nexus analysis, and composite filings.
  • Analyze and implement tax elections, including 754, 1031 exchanges, and accounting method changes.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices, audits, and amended return filings.
  • Manage and track passive activity losses and carryovers across entities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, managing communications and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and review work of junior staff members.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in CCH tax software and strong analytical skills.
  • CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and New York State taxation.
  • Hands-on experience with PTET, multi-state taxation, and entity structures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple engagements.
