Overview
- Lead and oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral healthcare facility, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide interim leadership as Director of Pharmacy during the facility's startup phase.
- Train on-site staff and manage pharmacy automation systems, including Omnicell and HCS.
- Ensure proper stocking and inventory management of medications within the facility.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to set up pharmacy operations and establish protocols.
- Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
- Provide on-call support after regular hours to address urgent pharmacy needs.
- Work in a business casual environment with comprehensive training provided for site-specific systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage medication inventory and approve orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Train staff on HCS and Omnicell systems, ensuring proficiency in their use.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to establish pharmacy protocols and operational workflows.
- Participate in P&T meetings, contributing to formulary decisions and policy development.
- Provide on-call support to address urgent pharmacy-related issues outside regular hours.
- Ensure the pharmacy is prepared for the facility's go-live date, including proper stocking and setup.
- Maintain compliance with HR credentialing requirements, including background checks and licensure verification.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and Illinois pharmacist licensure required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations preferred.
- Proficiency with HCS and Omnicell systems preferred; training provided for new users.
- Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call availability.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, approve orders, and set up pharmacy operations.
- Experience in behavioral healthcare settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Compliance with HR credentialing requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
- Ability to adapt to a new facility environment and contribute to its successful launch.
