Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately and verify insurance coverage.
- Perform vital signs monitoring, phlebotomy, and other patient care functions.
- Document patient care information in electronic medical records accurately.
- Coordinate referrals and follow up with external specialists and laboratories.
- Assist in patient education and outreach initiatives to close gaps in care.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory collection and ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including dress code and punctuality.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
- Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
