Overview
- Lead and manage the Med/Surg/Tele unit operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans and strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and hospital policies for patient safety and quality assurance.
- Monitor and evaluate unit performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and enhance satisfaction.
- Support operational needs by floating between facilities as required, ensuring continuity of care.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic planning for nursing services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the Med/Surg/Tele unit, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with labor regulations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing staff.
- Coordinate training programs to enhance staff competencies and maintain certifications.
- Monitor patient care activities, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
- Prepare reports and documentation for administrative review and regulatory audits.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
- Active California RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum two years of experience in Med/Surg/Tele nursing management or equivalent.
- Proficiency in basic EKG/tele interpretation or completion of related coursework within six months.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff supervision and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement improvement strategies effectively.
