Overview
- Support clinical and administrative operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring exceptional patient experiences.
- Perform patient intake, scheduling, and front desk support to streamline clinic workflow.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and maintaining infection prevention practices.
- Provide compassionate patient education on sexual and reproductive health services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and communication of patient information.
- Maintain professional development through training and competency assessments.
- Contribute to revenue cycle activities, including payment collection and insurance eligibility screenings.
- Support abortion care services and other reproductive health procedures as needed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet patients, verify insurance, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and phone inquiries efficiently.
- Assist with laboratory testing, specimen handling, and infection prevention protocols.
- Provide non-judgmental education on sexual and reproductive health services.
- Support clinic operations by assisting providers and ensuring smooth workflows.
- Perform administrative tasks, including payment collection and insurance application assistance.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized office environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare or medical office experience; 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer systems.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- BLS Certification and bilingual/multilingual skills are advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care.
- Valid New York State Driver's License preferred.
