Job Description

Overview

  • Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries in a dynamic hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely and accurate financial information and reporting.
  • Contribute to month-end close activities and maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
  • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc accounting requests as needed.
  • Work independently while collaborating with team members in a professional services environment.
  • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Engage in expense reporting and cash management processes to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process accounts payable and vendor payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Generate invoices and assist with accounts receivable collections to ensure cash flow.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and prepare reports for management.
  • Support expense reporting and cash management processes effectively.
  • Prepare schedules and reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and address ad hoc requests.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in a professional setting.
  • Background in small business or professional services accounting is advantageous.
