Overview

  • Contribute to project success by accurately estimating costs and resources for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project feasibility and budget alignment.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate cost assessments.
  • Participate in bid preparation and negotiation processes to secure project contracts.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of estimates and project data for reference.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating processes and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resources.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant data for accurate estimating.
  • Utilize estimating software to generate comprehensive project proposals and budgets.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Present estimates and proposals to stakeholders and clients for review and approval.
  • Monitor project progress and update estimates as necessary to reflect changes.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations in all estimating activities.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in construction estimating preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating; 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teams and present estimates.
  • Knowledge of market trends and pricing within the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
