- Reports directly to the Director of Infection Prevention and Control, offering strategic insights and operational support.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Monitor and enforce infection prevention policies across all hospital departments to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Conduct surveillance to identify and manage hospital-acquired and community infections, utilizing advanced epidemiological methods.
- Analyze infection data to detect trends, assess risks, and develop targeted improvement strategies.
- Educate healthcare staff on infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and outbreak management.
- Collaborate with local health departments and regulatory bodies for communicable disease prevention and reporting.
- Provide consultation to physicians and staff regarding infection risks and evidence-based prevention practices.
- Prepare detailed statistical reports and utilize data to inform infection control strategies and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and TJC standards, maintaining a high level of regulatory readiness.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, or Public Health required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- California Registered Nurse license preferred, with a strong background in infection prevention.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Nursing, Medical Technology, or Public Health, with infection control expertise.
- Supervisory or charge nurse experience is advantageous for leadership responsibilities.
- Proficiency in CDC, CMS, and TJC regulations is essential for compliance and operational success.
- Strong knowledge of epidemiological principles and infection control practices, with a focus on healthcare settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively educate and collaborate with diverse teams.
