Job Description

Overview

  • Lead pharmacy operations at a healthcare facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide interim leadership as Director of Pharmacy, overseeing medication management and inventory control processes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and enhance medication safety protocols.
  • Utilize advanced pharmacy systems for efficient order entry and inventory automation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OIG, and facility-specific policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional standards and support the facility during a transitional leadership phase.
  • Work on-site Monday-Friday with potential remote support on Saturdays as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Manage inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Operate and oversee pharmacy systems for order entry and automation processes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to address patient medication needs effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to facility policies, including HIPAA and industry codes of conduct.
  • Conduct training and competency assessments for pharmacy staff members.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for audits and credentialing purposes.
  • Provide leadership and support during the facility's transition period.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing within the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in pharmacy leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy systems for order entry and inventory automation preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare pharmacy operations is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and medication verification processes.
  • Ability to work on-site and provide remote support as required.
  • Compliance with credentialing requirements, including background checks and competency assessments.
