Overview

• Serve as a vital financial resource, ensuring precise project accounting and adherence to industry standards and organizational policies.
• Analyze financial data to monitor project performance, identify trends, and address potential issues proactively.
• Coordinate project setup processes, ensuring alignment with contract terms and organizational policies for seamless execution.
• Review contracts to understand project scope, billing requirements, and financial obligations comprehensively.
• Monitor project budgets, track changes, and ensure updates are accurately reflected in financial systems.
• Verify commitments to external partners or vendors align with project financial plans and policies.
• Ensure revenue recognition complies with applicable accounting standards and internal policies effectively.
• Support project teams with financial insights, budgeting, audits, and special initiatives to drive success.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Analyze project financial data, monitor performance, and flag potential issues for timely resolution.
• Coordinate accurate and timely project setup aligned with contract terms and organizational standards.
• Monitor project budgets, track changes, and ensure updates are reflected in financial systems seamlessly.
• Prepare monthly financial reports with detailed commentary on project status and variances.
• Participate in project review meetings, providing financial insights to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements consistently.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to project financials, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor retainage balances, reductions, and payments to subcontractors for accuracy and compliance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting; 10 years preferred for senior-level expertise.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and compliance monitoring essential.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and project management principles required.
• Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis highly valued.
• Ability to manage billing documentation and oversee subcontractor payments effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders successfully.
• Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory compliance requirements preferred.
