Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Overview

• Provide psychiatric care and medication management to individuals with complex mental health needs.
• Work across multiple locations, offering flexibility in scheduling and collaboration opportunities.
• Engage in crisis intervention and case conferences to address emergent clinical needs.
• Collaborate with leadership on policy and program development initiatives.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses as needed.
• Participate in incident reviews and contribute to training committees.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards and organizational policies.
• Deliver emergency first aid and CPR when necessary.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications tailored to individual treatment plans.
• Provide medication management for patients with complex mental health conditions.
• Respond promptly to emergent clinical situations, including crisis interventions.
• Collaborate with program leadership to develop and implement effective policies.
• Offer guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
• Participate in organizational committees focused on training and incident reviews.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical standards.

Job Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience, with 3 years preferred.
• Strong emergency response and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in writing, documentation, and computer systems.
• Experience with mental health and substance use populations is advantageous.
• CPR/AED/First Aid/Naloxone certification or willingness to obtain.
• Bilingual candidates are highly preferred.
