Overview

  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient surgical setting, ensuring optimal health outcomes through evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual evaluations, to inform care planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and patient-specific requirements.
  • Monitor patient responses to interventions, documenting progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Coordinate with surgical teams to prepare patients for procedures, ensuring readiness and addressing concerns.
  • Facilitate effective communication among patients, families, and healthcare providers to align care goals and expectations.
  • Implement discharge planning and referrals to support patient recovery and continuity of care.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including training sessions and staff meetings, to enhance skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience in surgical or outpatient settings.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to professional growth and adherence to ethical standards in nursing practice.
