Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for a private equity firm specializing in real estate investments.
  • Utilize advanced technology tools to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and analyze fund-level financial statements and investor reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Support REIT compliance and fund formation activities with detailed analysis.
  • Drive automation initiatives to eliminate manual work and enhance workflows.
  • Maintain and improve data integration processes across accounting systems.
  • Contribute to special projects, including deal-level modeling and side-letter analysis.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledgers for multiple fund entities.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances regularly.
  • Calculate and allocate capital calls, distributions, and waterfall returns.
  • Ensure compliance with REIT income and asset testing requirements.
  • Develop audit workpapers and respond to auditor inquiries effectively.
  • Prepare lender reporting packages and track compliance with loan covenants.
  • Design automated workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Utilize AI tools for document extraction and anomaly detection in reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting or related roles.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP for investment companies and real estate accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with financial statements, capital calls, and waterfall calculations.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Power Query; familiarity with Yardi is preferred.
  • CPA certification or active candidacy is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AI tools or scripting for accounting processes is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage deadlines effectively.
