Job Description

Overview

  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and integration of summer associates and entry-level attorneys for a prestigious law firm.
  • Collaborate with hiring partners, recruitment committees, and senior management to execute strategic talent initiatives.
  • Coordinate on-campus interview processes, law school outreach, and sponsorship events to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Manage summer associate programs including orientation, training, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with due diligence processes for candidates and maintain recruitment database accuracy.
  • Supervise recruitment staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high team performance standards.
  • Represent the firm at campus events, promoting its reputation and attracting top talent.
  • Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within recruitment and integration processes.
  • Offer flexibility in work arrangements, including occasional travel and after-hours commitments.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Execute all aspects of law student and entry-level recruitment for the firm’s Chicago office.
  • Administer summer programs and on-campus interview projects, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Coordinate new associate onboarding, including orientation schedules and background checks.
  • Develop relationships with law school career services to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Organize and track interview materials, schedules, and feedback for recruitment processes.
  • Manage summer associate program budgets and coordinate events with committees.
  • Support strategic plans for recruitment committees and determine recruiting teams.
  • Supervise recruitment staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and performance.
  • Represent the firm at campus events, enhancing its presence and recruitment outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of law firm recruiting or professional client-service experience.
  • At least 2 years specializing in law student legal recruitment within a law firm.
  • Proficiency in recruitment software such as ViDesktop and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of NALP standards and legal recruiting practices preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work onsite 3-4 days per week and travel as needed.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within recruitment processes.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak recruitment periods.
