Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and supervise patient account operations, ensuring compliance with billing and reimbursement regulations.
  • Analyze statistical data to measure staff performance and financial progress.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and meet departmental goals.
  • Provide technical guidance to revenue cycle staff on complex billing and follow-up activities.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate personnel to maintain high performance standards.
  • Ensure adherence to managed care contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepare departmental reports and participate in special projects as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with financial assistance policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate daily operations related to billing and collection of third-party accounts.
  • Resolve routine questions and escalate complex issues to management.
  • Develop and conduct training for staff on billing applications and procedures.
  • Monitor performance of external agencies and reconcile inventories and invoices.
  • Compile and organize statistical data to identify trends and communicate findings.
  • Prepare Medicare Credit Balance Reports quarterly and manage bad debt transfers.
  • Participate in payer meetings to resolve billing and reimbursement issues.
  • Ensure compliance with financial assistance policies and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in patient accounts management.
  • Knowledge of hospital billing, insurance reimbursement, and third-party billing processes.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and CTR computer terminals.
  • Completion of HBI certification course during onboarding is required.
  • Strong analytical skills to compile and interpret statistical data.
  • Effective communication skills to share knowledge and address issues.
  • Ability to develop training materials and manage staff competencies.
