Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Manage the monthly close process, preparing financial statements and reconciliations for internal reporting.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, deferred revenue schedules, and related accounting impacts.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and ensure proper expense recognition.
  • Coordinate payroll accounting processes, including commissions and related reconciliations.
  • Prepare management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
  • Support external audits, tax compliance activities, and implementation of internal controls.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and operational metrics.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Own the accounting function, from transaction processing to financial statement preparation.
  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely completion of all activities.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor setup processes.
  • Monitor cash activity and assist with collections and aging management.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial updates for executive management.
  • Support tax compliance, 1099 reporting, and annual tax return preparation.
  • Enhance accounting workflows, controls, and reporting processes for scalability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in senior roles.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • CPA license or CPA-track candidate preferred.
  • Experience with deferred revenue, payroll accounting, and commission reporting.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to accuracy and detail.
