Overview
- Lead the accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Manage the monthly close process, preparing financial statements and reconciliations for internal reporting.
- Oversee revenue recognition, deferred revenue schedules, and related accounting impacts.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and ensure proper expense recognition.
- Coordinate payroll accounting processes, including commissions and related reconciliations.
- Prepare management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
- Support external audits, tax compliance activities, and implementation of internal controls.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and operational metrics.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Own the accounting function, from transaction processing to financial statement preparation.
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely completion of all activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor setup processes.
- Monitor cash activity and assist with collections and aging management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial updates for executive management.
- Support tax compliance, 1099 reporting, and annual tax return preparation.
- Enhance accounting workflows, controls, and reporting processes for scalability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in senior roles.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- CPA license or CPA-track candidate preferred.
- Experience with deferred revenue, payroll accounting, and commission reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to accuracy and detail.
