Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and examinations of neonatal patients, documenting findings and updates to care plans.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic and laboratory studies to inform treatment decisions.
- Diagnose and manage neonatal disease processes, prescribing medications and therapies as needed.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
- Educate families on neonatal health, treatment plans, and supportive resources, fostering understanding and engagement.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care and hospital operations.
- Participate in professional development and training to stay current in neonatal care practices.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing with formal education in neonatal care required.
- Current Texas Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure mandatory.
- National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner preferred; candidates in certification programs may be considered.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Basic Life Support certifications required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in neonatal services preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and families.
