Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and examinations of neonatal patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies to inform treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage medications, fluids, and therapies for neonates.
- Coordinate care with neonatologists, nursing staff, and specialty providers.
- Educate families on neonatal conditions and treatment plans, fostering therapeutic relationships.
- Document diagnoses, treatment updates, and care plans accurately and timely.
- Facilitate continuity of care through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner required.
- Experience in neonatal care and management of sick neonates.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Basic Life Support certifications mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality in patient care.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for neonates.
