Overview
- Provide clinical support by discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications or vaccines.
- Perform diagnostic screening tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection with precision and care.
- Maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver patient care.
- Document patient information accurately into electronic medical records systems.
- Work within defined parameters to meet quality standards and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Adhere to standard policies and procedures while exercising discretion in decision-making.
- Participate in the organization's Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs during clinical visits.
- Administer medications and vaccines as per certification and guidelines.
- Perform phlebotomy and diagnostic tests with attention to accuracy and patient comfort.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and equipped for patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records systems.
- Travel locally as required, with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Follow standard policies and procedures while exercising independent discretion when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Arts degree or equivalent educational background.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification.
- CPR certification is mandatory for this role.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, with 2 years preferred.
- Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy is highly desirable.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience is preferred.
- Availability for on-site work and local travel as required.
