Overview
- Support a dynamic litigation practice group specializing in commercial real estate disputes and complex legal matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys in federal, state, and administrative legal proceedings and alternative dispute resolution.
- Draft, organize, and proofread litigation documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedural requirements.
- Manage case files, deadlines, and document databases to maintain organization and efficiency.
- Coordinate e-discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production.
- Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals, including electronic presentations.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, and agencies to facilitate case progress.
- Track court rules, service deadlines, and case milestones across multiple legal matters.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, from investigation to appeals, ensuring thorough support.
- Draft, revise, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate follow-up.
- Coordinate e-discovery processes and organize electronically stored information effectively.
- Prepare trial and appellate materials, including exhibit lists and electronic presentations.
- File and serve legal documents in compliance with federal and state court requirements.
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth case management and resolution.
- Monitor procedural requirements and deadlines to maintain compliance and efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in commercial real estate disputes.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification required.
- Proficiency in litigation procedures, court filings, and e-discovery tools.
- Experience with New York State and federal court electronic filing systems.
- Familiarity with real estate documents, zoning materials, and land use approvals preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and collaborative approach in a multidisciplinary environment.
