Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure accurate labeling, centrifuging, and storage of specimens according to established protocols.
  • Maintain specimen integrity during packaging and transport to ensure reliable test results.
  • Comply with safety regulations and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Update patient information and address inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
  • Follow physician orders and laboratory protocols meticulously for accurate testing and reporting.
  • Participate in department training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in phlebotomy practices.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in phlebotomy; 2 years preferred for advanced expertise.
  • Proficiency in specimen collection and preparation techniques is essential for success.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills and pediatric experience are required to serve diverse patients.
  • Ability to float to multiple locations as needed is necessary for operational flexibility.
