Overview

- Perform oral health screenings, educate patients on dental hygiene practices, and address dietary impacts on oral health.
- Conduct X-rays, dental impressions, and radiograph development to assist in accurate diagnoses.
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
- Remove plaque, clean teeth, and prevent gum disease through effective dental hygiene techniques.
- Collect and review medical and dental histories to inform treatment plans.
- Support dentists in all aspects of patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Comfort patients during examinations and treatments, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
- Conduct thorough oral health screenings and review patient histories to identify potential issues.
- Educate patients on proper dental care practices and the impact of diet on oral health.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as X-rays and dental impressions to support accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Provide preventive dental care, including plaque removal and teeth cleaning, to maintain oral health.
- Assist dentists in patient care, ensuring efficient and effective treatment delivery.
- Document and update patient records accurately to support ongoing care and treatment planning.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Hygiene or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist; 4 years preferred.
- Active GDC Registration and relevant dental hygiene certifications.
- Proficient in performing X-rays, dental impressions, and radiograph development.
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices and oral health education.
- Excellent communication skills with a comforting bedside manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
