- Prepare operatories for treatments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in four-handed dentistry and assist with various dental procedures.
- Coordinate inventory management to maintain adequate supplies and avoid shortages.
- Provide empathetic and compassionate support to patients during their dental treatments.
- Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students to foster a positive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with established protocols for sterilization and infection control.
- Contribute to a fast-paced clinic setting, supporting multiple operatories simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist students with dental procedures, ensuring adherence to clinical standards.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following established protocols.
- Organize and restock supplies to maintain operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Support evening and Saturday clinic hours as needed.
- Demonstrate critical thinking to address challenges and improve patient care.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience for students.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and clinic operations.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Massachusetts Dental Assistant License mandatory.
- Certified Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions or Formal Training preferred.
- CPR and Radiology certifications required; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinic environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
- Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with immunization requirements.
