Job Description

Overview

  • Provide direct patient care and administrative support in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical services and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Engage with patients and guests to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Perform patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification tasks accurately.
  • Support care teams in initiatives to improve patient health outcomes.
  • Handle referrals, lab coordination, and follow-ups with external specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in direct patient care activities under supervision of licensed staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with inquiries and concerns.
  • Monitor patient flow and address registration and check-out processes.
  • Schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage using electronic systems.
  • Collect payments, reconcile cash drawers, and provide receipts.
  • Coordinate referrals and diagnostic tests with external providers.
  • Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and other patient care functions.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Assist in campaigns to close care gaps and improve health outcomes.
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems essential.
  • Ability to perform patient care functions, including vital signs and specimen collection.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to different medical office locations.
