Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage tax engagements from initial planning to final delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, extensions, and strategic planning calculations.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and draft detailed memorandums with findings.
- Communicate with IRS and state agencies regarding audits and inquiries.
- Delegate projects effectively and provide support to team members as needed.
- Participate in client meetings and proposals to support business development.
- Assist with employee training initiatives and provide career mentorship.
- Report to tax department leadership and contribute to overall organizational goals.
- Lead consulting projects and special assignments for management and clients.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA certification or EA designation is mandatory for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience; 9 years preferred.
- Proficiency in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
- Experience with multi-state and international tax filings is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in tax software and workflow optimization tools.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and train junior staff effectively.
